The award is given to Mississippi's top college baseball player and voted on by a panel of professional scouts, college coaches and a media member.
The 6-foot-1, 216-pound Renfroe leads the Bulldogs with a .362 batting average, 15 homers, 51 RBIs and nine stolen bases.

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - It may be the best field of finalists
ever for the Ferriss Trophy. A couple of guys would get snubbed no matter what,
but when the votes were counted the award for Mississippi's top college baseball
player went to Hunter Renfroe of Mississippi State, beating out the likes of
Bobby Wahl and Andrew Pierce.
Rrenfroe, a junior outfielder from Crystal Springs, led the SEC with 15 home
runs, while driving in 51 runs and hitting .362 He's the 2nd straight bulldog
to win this award.
"It's truly a great honor to receive the trophy from all those guys who
really deserve it as well," said Renfroe. "To be on the stage with Boo Ferris
and everything like that, it's a great honor."
The Bulldogs are in Hoover, Alabama, for the SEC Baseball Tournament. They
defeated Missouri Tuesday night 2-1 in seventeen innings.
