Sentencing Trial For Rusk Man Begins

An Anderson County jury finds a Rusk man guilty of capital murder. The sentencing trial has already started. 21 year old Beunka Adams is facing life in prison or the death penalty for the crime. In 2002, Adams and another man robbed a convenience store in Rusk and forced two clerks and a customer, Kenneth Vandever, into a car. They drove to a deserted field and shot all three. Vandever was killed. The other two survived. Even though the crime happened in Cherokee County, the judge moved the trial to Anderson County due to extensive media coverage.
