If you're thinking about drinking and driving, the Department Of Public Safety has a message for you; they're going to take you to jail. Law enforcement will be out in force over the next two weeks in an operation called "Drink... Drive... go to jail". Over 60-thousand officers will be patrolling Texas roads and highways in the program. They say there will be no second chances.
"There is no warning for this program, if you are caught drinking and driving you will go to jail, we have a zero tolerance policy for this sort of behavior" says state trooper Jean Steely.
If you are arrested for drunk driving , you could be sentenced to 180 days in jail, a 2-thousand dollar fine, and have your license taken away for a year.
