& APEC combine brings in best East Texas talent

The best of the best in East Texas high school football were in Tyler on Sunday.

"It is great to see everyone here," said Grace's Kade Clayton. "It gives us all the chance to show out." and APEC hosted a recruiting combine for 100 of the best in East Texas.

Major recruiting services like ESPN and Rivals were in attendance.

The combine is the first of it's kind to feature just East Texas players.

Those in attendance were all in agreement, the combine was great but the combine in East Texas, is even better.

"I have been to a few combines but none where I felt at home," said Clayton. "It is fun to show out here at home and show people what I got."

"It is so fun to compete against the best guys from East Texas," said Jacob Bragg, from Nacogdoches. "I love it, I just love the competition."

The combine also gave the chance for the best player to face each other in head to head drills.

"Coming out with guys that you know, competing against them as you try to beat them and they try to beat you," said Longview's Ja'Mycal Hasty. "It is just so convenient to get everyone here in East Texas to compete against each other, it is a great thing to have."

MVP's of the combine were awarded as well, with Hasty named the Offensive MVP and Daylon Mack, of Gladewater, as the Defensive MVP.
