An Indiana man was shot after allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, Brandon Boughner arrived at his ex-girlfriend's home on S. Co. Road 650W early Friday morning.
Boughner physically assaulted the woman in front of their 2-year-old child. The woman was eventually able to escape and scream for help. A neighbor heard her cries and brought her to his house.
Boughner then drove to the neighbor's residence, crashing his truck into the home. The woman then fired four shots at Boughner as he left the scene.
Boughner was located a short time later with a gunshot wound to his head. He was taken to the hospital, then released to the Fayette County Jail, where he is charged with domestic battery, criminal recklessness, residential entry, strangulation, criminal confinement, neglect of a dependent, criminal mischief, OVI, interference with reporting a crime, possession of marijuana, disorderly conduct and leaving the scene of an accident.
