Brook Hill baseball wins state

Posted: Updated:

Not even the rain could stop the Brook Hill Guard from winning a third consecutive 3A TAPPS state championship.  Brook Hill held off Bryan Brazos Christian 7 to 5 on Wednesday afternoon to send head coach Terry Pirtle out with another trophy.  Pirtle is leaving Brook Hill for Houston 2nd Baptist High School.

Thanks to weather, the championship game was delayed three hours and moved from Belton to Waco.

Brook Hill and Brazos Christian were tied at two in the fifth inning, before the Guard broke things open, scoring five unanswered runs.

Brook Hill starting pitcher Quintan Pile struck out 14 batters in six innings.
