2 women, 1 of whom was pregnant, dead in Diboll 3-vehicle wreck

DIBOLL, TX (KTRE) -

Two women have died in a three-vehicle wreck on North Temple Drive in Diboll. One of the women was pregnant.

Diboll Police Sgt. Norman Williams said the pregnant woman, who was a passenger in a Honda Accord, died on the scene.

"The JP has pronounced and we've called for a funeral home to come pick up the body," Williams said.

"I believe the family has been contacted. She was not driving so it is going to be a vehicular mishap and we are having her transported to the funeral home in Lufkin to have the family to contact them and they will probably have her transported to Houston. That's where she was from," said Precinct Four Justice of the Peace Esther Barger.

The second woman died at a Lufkin hospital. The wreck involved two cars and an 18-wheeler.

"It's still under criminal investigation, but it appears that one vehicle was heading southbound and the second vehicle was coming out of the parking lot of the Diboll Depot Center and the third vehicle was heading northbound. The vehicle exited out of the Diboll Depot and hit the southbound vehicle and the southbound vehicle ended up in the northbound lanes at which time they were struck by the third vehicle," said Williams.

The truck driver, Policarpio Galvan, said he was driving northbound when the two cars hit each other. He said a Honda Accord spun out in front of him and he could not do anything but hit them, crushing the Accord.
