LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Drivers can expect weekend delays on I-65 south on the Kennedy Bridge for two more weekends.
Closures on I-65 will occur during three separate weekends beginning at 9 p.m. Fridays and continue through Monday morning. All lanes and exit ramps at the south end of the Kennedy Bridge will remain open. The Exit 0 ramp from southbound I-65 to West Market Street in Jeffersonville will be open, according to a news release.
Painting is underway on a possible detour. However, work on the Clark Memorial 2nd Street Bridge will primarily happen underneath the structure. "We tried to coordinate the Clark Memorial painting project with the lane closures necessary on the Kennedy," KY Transportation Cabinet spokesperson Andrea Clifford said.
Kennedy work is scheduled for the weekends of May 10-13, May 17-20 and May 31-June 3. There will not be scheduled lane closures Memorial Day weekend.
