Loose Boom Cuts Electricity Pole In Half

A loose boom on an 18 wheeler cut an electricity pole in two, knocking out power to parts of Longview.

Police say the flat bed trailer was hauling an asphalt grinding machine on Loop 281 near Highway 80. But the boom was not properly secured. It swung out of the truck hitting the pole.

It took more than 4 hours for electricity to be completely restored. The driver of the 18-wheeler was ticketed for not have the load secured.
