Te'o's 'fake girlfriend' makes Maxim Hot 100

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Just more than a week after a San Diego newspaper printed a cartoon depicting Chargers linebacker Manti Te'o on a beach with his arm wrapped around an invisible woman, another publication has taken a shot at the Punahou graduate's embarrassing fake girlfriend saga.

Maxim Magazine, which annually publishes a 'Hot 100' list of the of "the world's sexiest women," has named Manti Te'o's Fake Girlfriend the 69th hottest woman of 2013.

"After Manti Te'o's fake girlfriend hoax of 2012, we think it might be nice to have an invisible girl of our own to love," reads a biography on the magazine's website. "Why not? She's got a ton of great qualities, including looking awesome in a bikini."

The photo that accompanies that "Manti Te'o's Fake Girlfriend" entry in the 'Hot 100' shows an ocean in the background with the silhouette of a black bikini in the foreground, without an actual person present in the picture.

In January, it was revealed that Lennay Kekua, the woman believed to have been the dead girlfriend of the Notre Dame All-America linebacker, was actually a hoax and had been portrayed by an acquaintance of Te'o's named Ronaiah Tuiasosopo. To read more on that story, click here.

On April 26, with the 38th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, Te'o was selected by the San Diego Chargers, who traded up into the second round to take the Laie native. To read more on the draft, click here.
