Victim of deadly incident at asphalt company identified

JACKSONVILLE, TX (KLTV) -

A man is dead following an accident at Longview Asphalt Incorporated. According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department, the accident happened around 10 a.m. on Monday inside a silo-type structure at the Jacksonville division of the company off of County Road 3302.

When Jacksonville emergency responders arrived on the scene, they found that 42-year-old James Anthony Lucus had been killed in the accident. He was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Philip Grimes.

Investigators from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the incident. The incident remains under investigation by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department, as well.
