TRINITY, TX (KTRE) -

Officers with the Trinity Police Department arrested a 44-year-old man on May 1 after he allegedly threw a man off his bicycle, punched him repeatedly, and ran off with the 53-year-old victim's case of beer.

James Wilkinson is still being held in the Houston County Jail on a felony charge of robbery. His bail has been set at $10,000.

According to Trinity Police Chief Steve Jones, the victim was riding his bike near the intersection of Elm Street and Church Street at about 9:35 p.m. on May 1 when Wilkinson allegedly approached him and said, "You owe me money."

The victim replied, "No, I don't," and Wilkinson allegedly threw him onto the ground. Jones said Wilkinson punched the man several times before running off on foot with the case of beer the victim had been carrying as he rode his bike.
