Motorcyclist hospitalized after accident on Hwy 59 South
NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -
DPS trooper, Gary Rudisill says a 3-wheeled motorcycle was traveling northbound of Highway 59, when the driver lost control.
The driver, identified as 52-year-old Clarence Benny Brown was thrown into the grassy median and his motorcycle continued into the on-coming lanes and hit a van head on. The motorcycle then caught fire.
Officials say Brown is believed to be a retired U.S. Marshal Service member, as a U.S. Marshal's office badge was found in the charred remains of his belongings.
Brown was alert and talking to first responders at the scene. He was transported to a local hospital to be checked on. Three people were in the van at the time of the accident, they were not injured in this accident.
