ETX man injured after being hit by oncoming train

KILGORE, TX (KLTV) -

An East Texas man is in critical condition after being hit by train early Sunday morning.

Kilgore PIO Roman Roberson tells KLTV that just after 12am Sunday, a call came in to Kilgore Police regarding a pedestrian being hit by a train. Authorities say it was on the train tracks in Kilgore, about 1/4 mile west of Southport road. This is near Highway 42, also known as Powderhorn road.

Police say38-year-old Armando Lopez was walking on the tracks when he was hit by the train. He was then transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, where he remains in critical condition.

    The Kids Preferred Toy Company recalled the Just One You Waggy Musical Kitty toy Thursday due to a choking hazard. Around 587,000 toys are being recalled. The toy was sold at Carter's, Target, and Walmart stores nationwide and online.  According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, "the metal post and handle of the wind-up mechanism can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children."
