Sunset Acres shooter behind bars

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

21-year-old Marc Scroggins is now behind bars after a Shreveport shooting. Police say he fired the bullet that injured a woman.

The bullet traveled about a block, striking 54-year-old Dorothy Johnson in the chest. The shooting happened outside of a doctor's office on Mansfield Road.

Johnson was inside her home in the 6000 block of Bowie Street. She is expected to recover.

Scroggins surrendered to authorities about 8 p.m. He is spending the night at the Shreveport City Jail on an outstanding arrest warrant. Scroggins also is charged with a single count of attempted second-degree homicide.
