Live coverage of the mayor's annual prayer breakfast

Coming up on Good Morning East Texas...

To coincide with the National Day of Prayer, the 22nd Annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast kicks off at 6:30 a.m. This is time for the community to come together with Mayor Barbara Bass in prayer lost loved ones and the nation as a whole. Good Morning East Texas' Annette Falconer will be live from Harvey Convention Center in Tyler, where that breakfast will be taking place.

Plus, a picture sent in by a viewer to our See It, Snap It, Send It, caught our eye and a lot of others. We'll have the story behind the heartwarming photo.

And, Grant Dade says a very strong cold front is heading our way. Out ahead of the front there is not a lot of moisture to work with thanks to the upper level disturbance to our east.  With that said there is still a slight chance of a few showers along and especially behind the cold front this afternoon and overnight tonight.  Highs will range from the lower 60s far north to the middle 70s in our southern counties. Once the front moves through your area the winds will shift to the northwest 20 to 25 miles per hour and gusty and usher in some of the coldest air we have ever seen here in May. Temperatures will drop through the 50s during the late afternoon and evening hours.  Details on how cold the next few nights could be are coming up on Good Morning East Texas.
