The community of White Oak came together Wednesday night to help a ten month old girl. More than 700 runners took part in a 5K color run. You not only run, but you're hit with paint.
"Running is fun to some people but you add paint to it and how could you not have fun?" said White Oak secretary Dana Mizell. "There's been a lot of things done to death but we wanted to make sure this was done big."
The money raised went to ten month old Camryn Noll. Camryn was diagnosed with Langerhans cell histiocytosis. The disease leaves tumor like lesions on her bones. Camryn just wrapped up ten weeks of chemo treatments.
"This run is just one of many things," said Camryn's mother Candace Noll. "From the prayer to the meals people bring us on days we travel. Just the support in general that the small community pulls together. There's nothing else like it."
Camryn has responded well to treatments and the family hopes LCH does not return.
