From The Palestine Police Department:

PALESTINE, TX (KLTV) - On April 30, 2013 the Palestine Police Department received a tip that a tan in color Ford Taurus would be returning to Palestine. The tip also added that the car would be carrying illegal drugs. At approximately 7:50pm Palestine Police Officer Marcos Lara located the vehicle and conducted a vehicle stop for a speeding violation. Officer Lara talked with the occupants of the vehicle and while doing so could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

Police have identified the people that were arrested as 27 year old Mercedes C. Jones and 28 year old Darrion Lamar Anderson.

A search of the vehicle produced over 2 pounds of marijuana and several bottles of PCP.  Also located inside the car were over 300 packages of what is believed to be synthetic cannabinoid. The two occupants of the vehicles were arrested and transported to the Anderson County Jail and booked on felony charges. These items will be forwarded to the DPS Crime Lab for testing.

The pair arrested will be charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG-2, second degree felony which carries a penalty of up to 20 years of in prison.
