7 from 7: Stories for your Tuesday afternoon

Good afternoon, everyone! Hope your day is going well.

1. The key to your front or back door could be the key to danger. Would you ever knowingly put a lock on your house that a complete stranger can open? You may not know it, but you may have already done that. Here's what you need to know.

2. We couldn't be prouder of these two John Tyler High School students who have been selected as Gates Millennium Scholars. Way to make East Texas Proud, Ceron Ford and Ana Ceratos!

3.  Will winter ever go away? More cool weather could be here soon; Chief Meteorologist Mark Scirto gives his forecast for you here.

4. Last Tuesday, a Longview Police Department sting busted a local business for selling alcohol to a minor. Get the details here.

5. It's almost a rite of passage during childhood, and one that. as adults, we find rather disgusting. However, a pediatric health study has said that a child eating his boogers may actually be good for him. KLTV's Shaley Sanders spoke to the doctor who did the study and she interviewed a few moms and kids to find out ... the truth about boogers. You can see that story on East Texas News at 5... if you dare.

6.  The Tyler Public Library will be the site of a new farmers market, beginning Thursday, May 9. And the farmers market needs your old t-shirts...really! Read what they're doing with old tshirts here.

7. The Discovery Science building in Tyler attracts kids from all over East Texas to participate in different hands-on activities and exhibits, and now you can enjoy the science before you even walk in, thanks to some talented local artists. See it here.

We'll see you soon!
