NORTHERN KENTUCKY (FOX19) -

A local senior services program was awarded a grant Tuesday to support older adults in Northern Kentucky.

The Duke Energy Foundation awarded the Senior Services of Northern Kentucky (SSNK) a $20,000 grant. The grant will benefit SSNK's newest program, '2nd Act'.

The program helps older adults develop the skills needed to re-enter the work force after an early retirement. Additionally, it brings awareness to regional employers on the importance of hiring older, experienced adults.

"SSNK is so grateful to Duke Energy for helping to create a brighter future for older adults looking to reenter the workforce.  Their support of the 2nd Act project will make a real difference in the employment landscape in Northern Kentucky, both for those seeking work and for employers seeking well qualified workers," said Director of Advancement Tricia Watts.
