The Discovery Science building in Tyler attracts kids from all over East Texas to participate in different hands-on activities and exhibits, and now....you can enjoy the science before you even walk in.
U.T. Tyler advanced art students have been working on a mural all semester. It looks like a blueprint of different scientific symbols and it incorporates the different displays that can be seen inside the museum.
After months of planning, and hours of painting, Summer High and eight other U.T. Tyler students are finally seeing the fruits of their labor in their mural. The discovery science place told the students they wanted something that could represent what the museum had to offer.
Professor Serio, also assisting in painting the mural, says she's proud of her students and all their hard work and dedication.
Serio says the project helped the students work as a team, and depend on each others talents and ideas.
And the students feel like the mural serves a purpose.
