Tyler Police Benevolence Sale: raising funds for families in need

Posted: Updated:

Tyler police are holding a garage sale this weekend, benefiting officers who become sick or who are injured on the job.

The Benevolence Fund started four years ago and helps cover the medical costs of Tyler police employees ranging from kids with disabilities to cancer of funeral expenses.

Over the last year, over $7,000 from the fund  have been given out to officers and their families in need.

The sale will continue Saturday morning, beginning at 8:00 a.m. in the parking lot of First Christian Church at Broadway and the South Loop in Tyler.

All proceeds from the sale will be going to the Benevolence Fund.
