It's elementary: Plant a tree

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Today is Arbor Day, so what better day to learn a little something about trees? Well, that's exactly what happened at Jack Elementary in Tyler.

Peltier Subaru teamed up with the City Of Tyler Arborist to educate the students about trees. Peltier also donated 700 trees for students to take home, or leave at the school and watch them grow. Most students elected to take the trees home and plant them.

"We had one little kid come up and raise his hand and say, 'hey, I've got a question, I've never planted a tree before. How do I plant a tree?' So we had the city arborist here and he taught them how to plant a tree, and taught them how to water it and when to water it, and then after about a year they can plant it wherever they want in their yard," said Robert Peltier, who donated the trees.

Peltier also donated $3,000 to be used to plant more trees around the city of Tyler.
