Kimbelys in court Friday for custody hearing

Posted: Updated:
SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

David and Sabrina Kimbley were back in Smith County family court this morning for a custody hearing for four of their children.

The Kimbleys' children have been in the state's custody since the couple's two-year-old son, Jake, was found dead in a septic tank on the family's property last August.

Deborah Willingham, the sister of David Kimbley, is attempting to gain custody of the children. She was questioned today about whether she had spent "substantial time with the children in the past."

Judge Clark did not grant a decision today.

The Kimbley's custody hearing will continue on May 7, 2013.
