Groveton native and former Kilgore College tight end Lane Johnson has been selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the first round of the NFL Draft.
The Oklahoma Sooners senior was taken with the No. 4 overall pick. Johnson was a high school quarterback turned tight end in junior college. After transferring to Oklahoma, Johnson was moved to the offensive line where he become one of the top tackles in the country. He's only played on the offensive line for two years.
Johnson was the third offensive tackle selected in the first four picks of the 2013 NFL Draft.
