Flying Pig to give runners clear bags at race

Posted: Updated:
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon officials are asking people to keep their backpacks at home.

While they aren't quite 'banned' from the event, organizers say they don't want participants or spectators to bring bags. If you do, they will be subject to search.

Runners in the Flying Pig will receive clear bags this year. Officials say the makers of the bag offered to produce clear ones, to which the Flying Pig Director agreed.

Wristbands will also be sold at the race to benefit a charitable cause in Boston.

The Flying Pig Marathon begins Sunday, May 5 at 6:30 a.m. in downtown Cincinnati.
