In The Kitchen: Terry Downs' Sopapillas


2 tubes refrigerated crescent rolls
8 oz. Cream cheese
1-1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoons cinnamon
½ cup softened butter or margarine

1.Preheat oven to 350° unroll one tube of the crescent rolls in a 9" x 13" baking pan.
2.Pinch seams together where dough meets, to make one complete layer in bottom of pan.
3.Mix cream cheese, sugar and vanilla and spread over crescent rolls in pan.
4.Unroll second tube of crescent rolls onto wax paper.
5. Pinch seams together.
6.Pick up wax paper to drop the top layer of crescent rolls over the cream cheese mixture.
7.Spread softened butter or margarine over top and sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon over the butter.
8.Bake at 350° for 28 minutes.
