Better East Texas: Tyler Proud

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

By Mark Randall, President of Tyler Proud

Tyler Proud is a group of parents, grandparents, students, educators and business owners who believe great schools make a great community. Together, we must invest in our future by providing quality public education in Tyler ISD.

Tyler Proud supports the TISD school bond for four important reasons:

  1. The entire bond will be funded without raising the existing tax rate.
  2. The campuses in te bond will have increased safety and security features to better protect our children and our teachers.
  3. There are currently 164 portable classroom trailers across TISD. These new and remodeled campuses will accommodate our current overcrowding and projected growth.
  4. And finally, Tyler and the East Texas community will benefit from a state-of-the-art Career and Technical Education Center. The CTE Center will teach high school students workforce and college-readiness skills in a real world environment. This Center will support our growing regional workforce needs and provide our students with certifications and college credit.

For more information about the bond, visit our website – www.tylerproud.org. Join us in voting FOR this bond that will benefit 8000 of the over 18,000 students in TISD. Early voting begins April 29 and voting day is May 11.

Remember – a vote FOR the bond is a vote FOR our students, teachers and schools!

The future of Tyler is in TISD!

For the most part 7-on-7 can be a fair indicator of how well a team is shaping up. Do they need a lot or a little work. Unless you're the Longview Lobos.  The Lobos have always been so strong at the run game, that they could have a terrible 7-on-7 season and still come out dominating on Friday nights.  But what would happen, if the Lobos got balanced?  Well District 11-6A better start prepping, because for the first time since 2013 the Lobos have a stable pass ga...More >>
