MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - She is only in the second grade, but what Roslyn Weeks did was so heroic, it caught the attention of first responders at the Memphis Fire Department.

Firefighters say Roslyn is perhaps the youngest hero they ever held a special ceremony for at the Fire Museum of Memphis.

Her dad, Jacques Weeks, says it started with a tragic event last August when they were alone at home and he went into full cardiac arrest.

"Would you be here without her?" asked Action News 5's Ben Watson.

"No sir, definitely wouldn't. That's my little baby and I love her," Jacques responded.

Seconds after he collapsed, 7-year-old Roslyn ran to a neighbor's house and they called 911.

Her quick thinking saved her dad's life.

"Cause I love my daddy and I wanted him to live," said Roslyn.

But for Roslyn, all of this new hero attention is taking some getting used to. In fact, she was so emotional she shed a few tears after firefighters presented her with a big toy basket.

"We love you. We are so thankful that you are the little girl that you are," said her mother, Jasmine.
