Texas College Getting Ready For First Football Conference

Thursday was media day for the Texas College Steers. The second-year team put on the football jerseys for the first time this season to smile for the cameras. Then they went right back to work.

Last year's team went 7-3 playing independent club-level ball. This year, Texas College joins the Central States Football League. In just their second year back from a forty-year football hiatus, Steers head coach Jay Brown is glad to finally have a little veteran experience.

The Steers will have a joint practice and scrimmage Friday with a college from Toluca, Mexico. Saturday, they'll have a scrimmage with Tyler Junior College at Pat Hartley Field.
