LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

A Longview pet store is now offering a reward for a dog that was stolen from the store last Wednesday.

Spencer, a 9-week-old shih-tzu, was stolen just after 10 a.m., April 10, from Wet Pets ‘N Critters on Loop 281 across from the Longview Mall.

Owner Laura Borens says she's hoping the public can help find her stolen puppy.

She is offering a $400 cash reward for the safe return of Spencer, the name of the person responsible for taking him and the arrest and prosecution of the person responsible for taking him.

On surveillance tape, a male customer was seen walking towards the dog pen, looking around, and then picking up Spencer.

After holding him for a few seconds, the customer then stuffed the puppy into his jacket and zipped it up.

Borens said her employees realized almost immediately that the nine-week-old puppy was missing.

After running the pet store for nearly 25 years, Borens still can't believe it happened.
