Tyler Police are investigating an aggravated assault that sent one man to a local hospital.
At 3:05 a.m. Monday, officers responded to a call of a gun fired in the 3100 block of Highway 31. When they arrived, they found an 18-year-old Hispanic male who was shot in the abdomen.
The victim told police he was walking home from a gas station at Highway 31 and Loop 323 when a white car with black wheels pulled up, someone inside shot him then drove away. Afterward, the victim told police he walked home and called 911. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
