Suspected Teen Drunk Driver Involved In Fatal Accident

Cars collide in an overnight accident in Longview, killing an 18 year old recent Pine Tree graduate. Police believe the driver of the other car, a 16 year old, was driving under the influence of alcohol. The accident happened around 9:30 last night at the intersection of Loop 281 and Northwest drive in Longview.

Police say the vehicle, driven by the suspected D-U-I driver, turned in front of an oncoming car. 18 year old Lauren Frazier was in that car. Frazier, not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and killed. Investigators say it's the kind of senseless tragedy they unfortunately continue to see.

"Considering the amount of education that goes into these kids in schools with various programs we know we know what the school districts are doing we know what we've done in the past it never ceases to amaze me that for one night of excess, a lifetime of misery has been caused to 2 families." said Sgt. James Johnson of the Longview police department.

Officials are asking for any witnesses who may have seen the accident to come forward. They are waiting on the results of a blood test from the 16 year old to decide whether to pursue criminal charges.
