Life Sentence For Longview Robbery Suspect

A Harrison county man has been convicted and sentenced in the armed robbery of a Longview restaurant last summer. Last summer David Allen Russell escaped from jail, assaulted two guards, robbed the Lubys cafeteria in Longview, and got away with over 2-thousand dollars.

He then led police on a wild chase last summer; culminating in a foot chase that ended at a Longview apartment complex, where he was re-arrested. Today he was sentenced to life in prison and given a 10-thousand dollar fine. He is already serving three life terms on other charges.
