Two arrested after restaurant robbery

UNION TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

Two suspects have been arrested after an aggravated robbery at a Union Township restaurant.

Police responded to a reports of a hold-up at The Golden Corral on Geneste-Withamsville Road around 11:50 p.m. Saturday night.

Officers arriving on the scene discovered the restaurant's door open and investigated. Responding officers set up a perimeter as the officers inside prepared to confront the suspects.

As authorities approached the suspects, they fled through the back door.

Police confronted the suspects outside and took the suspects into custody. The suspects surrendered without incident.

Kenneth Chipembam, 37, of Springboro and Kabinga Kwambana, 22, of Cincinnati were charged with aggravated robbery and kidnapping.

Authorities say more charges are expected when the case is presented to the grand-jury in coming days.

Police say that similar robberies have occurred at similar restaurants in other jurisdictions across the tri-state.

The East Texan's senior campaign though is likely over. Wilson suffered an ankle injury in the victory and will not play against Rice or in next week's Conference USA championship game.
