The Texas Education agency has asked Tyler Independent School District to review an allegation the TEA received about testing irregularities during the Spring 2012 STAAR exam.
Based on Tyler ISD's findings, the TEA will determine what next steps will be taken. Steps to correct any irregularities could include additional staff training, a review of security procedures, and/or a review of testing procedures, to name a few.
If more serious findings such as tampering with the tests, cheating, etc. are found, then more serious actions could be taken. These could include monitoring, further investigations by the certification unit against certified individuals which could result in action against their certificates, or a Special Accreditation Investigation.
The TEA said Tyler ISD is fully cooperating to resolve the matter. KLTV 7 has reached out to Tyler ISD for a comment.
