UC Greek Life competes for Freestore Foodbank

CLIFTON, OH (FOX19) -

The University of Cincinnati's fraternity and sorority members welcomed spring with Greek Week 2013.

UC's Greek organizations compete in several events during the week April 8-12 to raise money for the Freestore Foodbank. Competitions include a dodgeball tournament, a lip-sync competition, belly-flop contest, a step-off and more.

UC Greek Life hopes to raise $40,000 to benefit the Freestore Foodbank. On Tuesday, participants also collected toiletries and built health-and-hygiene packs for people in need.

In addition, canned food items are also being collected for an event called 'CAN We Build It', where participants will be judged on their best 6x6 foot structure of canned food items.

Those interested in making a monetary donation to the UC's Greek Week can do so here: https://secure3.convio.net/fsfb/site/SPageNavigator/Greeklife.html?JServSessionIdr004=c2n6itbsv4.app341b

Donors can make a direct donation to the Freestore Foodbank, or to the fundraising tally of a specific UC sorority or fraternity.
