Smith County Sheriff's Department Gains Extra Help In War On Drugs

It might seem like something out of a "James Bond" movie.
The Smith County Sheriff's Department has a few new state of the art devices to help fight the war on drugs. It's called a Contraband Detection Kit. It includes a tiny camera on a fiber optic scope that allows officials to look inside the tiniest compartments of a car, including gas tanks.
The kit also includes a device that can detect if something is hidden deep inside a car or even its tires. Officials say the equipment will be a big help in out-smarting criminals. The fiber optic scope can venture up to 4 feet inside a car. The Smith County Sheriff's Department owns two of the Contraband Detection Kits.
