TUPELO, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Carol, the 39-year-old Asian elephant who was shot earlier this week in Tupelo, is now in Springfield, Missouri, recovering from her wound. She was also a guest on the Today Show Friday.
Carol has a dime size point of entry wound on her shoulder, but is active, mobile and comfortable.
The reward offered in the shooting of Carol is now $26,250, for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
She was shot around 2 a.m. Tuesday on the grounds of Tupelo's BancorpSouth Center. A silver or white Ford Explorer was seen in the immediate area at the time of the shooting.
