A local grocery chain is making grocery shopping a fun and educational experience.
Remke Bigg's hosted "A Taste of Learning" on Saturday. A Taste of Learning is a fun and healthy grocery shopping experience catered to families.
The event exposes parents and children to various learning opportunities tailored to the grocery store environment.
The event featured games such as "I Spy" in which parents and children located fruits and vegetables while grocery shopping. Remke Bigg's chefs also gave live food demonstrations tailored to children. Silent food demos featuring healthy foods and healthy, kid-friendly recipe cards were also in the store.
In addition to the interactive activities, families were also able to experience coloring and face painting activities, live music and dancing, health tips from Children's Hospital wellness experts and prizes and giveaways.
The event is held on the first Saturday of every month through September.
