Student organizers of the 11th annual Relay for
Life at the University of Cincinnati are aiming to raise $180 thousand by the
end of the event.
The largest student-organized community service event on
campus kicked off at 6 p.m. Friday evening. The fundraiser lasted until noon on
Saturday benefiting the American Cancer Society.
Relay for Life at the University of Cincinnati is the
largest collegiate relay in its division, which includes Ohio and Pennsylvania.
UC is currently ranked 16th in the nation as the largest collegiate
Relay for Life fundraiser.
More than 130 teams and 1,560 participants are expected.
Last year's relay raised $156 thousand, allowing students to
achieve their $1 million goal for fundraising over the past decade.
