For as many people coming into town for Masters Week,
others will be leaving and renting out their home. A unique tradition for many
homeowners in Augusta, cleaning and preparing to move out so golf enthusiasts
can move in.
"I am getting a lot of cleaning done, it's great
money and it's for the kid's education," said Catherine Wahl.
Those are the three things Wahl continues to remind
herself as she and her family transform their home into a rental house for the
next ten days.
"I won't sleep until Sunday at 11 a.m. when we hand
over the keys," said Wahl.
Sleep deprived over an extensive responsibility that
Wahl told FOX54 can begin as early as January to accommodate requirements set
by the Chamber of Commerce.
"Make space in your closets for people to hang their
clothes," said Wahl. "You have to provide towels for your guests just like a
hotel and then you can opt to have maid service arranged or you can arrange
will make special requests, like the ones staying at their house.
"They wanted to know what sort of shape our showers
were in because of course men like their showers, so we did some renovations,"
And if that wasn't enough to prepare for, they still
have to pack.
"The suit cases are everywhere; the clothes are
everywhere because you've got to get everything out," said Wahl.
