KILGORE, TX (KLTV) -

The Rusk County district attorney's office says that a Kilgore minister has been released from jail on bond after being arrested for sexual assault of a child.

Glenn Douglas Barton, 62, was released on $50,000 bond. His case will go before the May grand jury on charges of sexual assault of a child.

According to the Kilgore Police Department, Barton is a minister at Calvary Way Pentecostal Church in Kilgore.

Barton's arrest stemmed from an ongoing investigation conducted by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kilgore Police Department. This investigation was initiated after Kilgore Police Investigators received a report two weeks ago alleging Barton sexually assaulted a child. The alleged sexual abuse occurred between 2009 and 2013.
