Last year, Palestine running back Adrian Peterson was a household name in the recruiting battle. This year, that focus may shift a little east down Highway 84 where another potential blue chipper is set to begin his senior season. Rusk's Cody Glenn rushed for more than 1800 yards and 24 touchdowns last year, and needs around 500 yards this year to top 5000 for his career . That's quite impressive. He's looking at Oklahoma state, Tennessee and Texas A&M among others. The Eagles were picked by District 21-3A coaches as co-favorites with Diboll to win the title. But don't think the Eagles are a one dimensional team.
"We feel like we've got the capability of doing several things," said head coach Wayne Mahaffey. "We feel like we've got good receivers, we've got big lineman, we've got a good quarterback, so we fell like we've got a complete package."
"People coming out thinking we're going to be one dimensional and focus in on me, they're going to be in for a big surprise," said Glenn.
