PD: Police seek 2 of 3 vehicles in fatal car-pedestrian

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A 39-year-old man died after he was run over by three vehicles on a Phoenix street Wednesday night, according to Phoenix police.

Police said the man was crossing mid-block on 27th Avenue north of Bethany Home Road about 8:30 p.m. when he was struck by an older model, faded red Nissan Sentra, the driver of which fled the scene down a side street, according to Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos.

Witnesses told investigators the victim was then struck by a Dodge minivan, the driver of which stayed at the scene. But a third vehicle, a yellow Nissan Sentra, also hit the victim and the driver fled north on 27th Avenue, Martos said.

The pedestrian died at the scene, Martos said.

Martos did not identify the victim was not identified.

Martos said anyone with information about the incident, especially the vehicles and drivers that left the scene, are asked to call the Phoenix Police Department at 602-262-6141.

    Three men are behind bars this morning after attempting to rob a man at gunpoint. Kaleb Bush, 18, of Longview, and Devonte Smith, 19, and a juvenile approached a resident while he was in the parking lot of the Summer Brook Apartments.  One of the three pointed a gun at the resident and tried to rob him, according to Police.
