PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A trio of physicians opposed to expanding Medicaid in Arizona says Gov. Jan Brewer is making a mistake by pushing for one of the signature parts of President Barack Obama's health care overhaul.

The doctors say adding about 300,000 Arizonans to Medicaid as Brewer is proposing is unaffordable and unsustainable. They also say people who join the state's Medicaid plan won't get good medical care.

The doctors spoke at the state Capitol on Tuesday. They include internist Dr. Jane Orient of Tucson, surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Singer of Phoenix and anesthesiologist Dr. John Ammon of Phoenix.

Their press briefing comes weeks after Brewer brought hundreds of health care providers to a Capitol press conference to tout her plan.

The Legislature must approve the expansion.
