PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Authorities say they've caught a man involved in three armed robberies at Phoenix-area pharmacies in one day.

Police are looking for a second suspect.

Phoenix police said the James Johnson, 43, pointed a silver handgun at an employee and demanded Oxycotin pills at J & J Arrowhead Pharmacy in Glendale about 9:30 a.m. March 25. He was seen fleeing in a black Ford Expedition. Police did not have a description of the second suspect driving the vehicle.

At 11:20 a.m., the suspect demanded more Oxycotin from a pregnant employee at Estrella Pharmacy on Thomas Road in Phoenix. Another employee saw the suspect with a gun, got his own gun and ordered the suspect to the floor. The suspect then ran out without any pills.

The suspect entered a third pharmacy about noon and again pointed his gun at an employee demanding she fill a bag with the store's Percocet pills. A witness went to get help and found two people who were armed and confronted the suspect who was fleeing the Melrose Pharmacy on West Montecito. The suspect was ordered to the ground and the group was able to hold him until officers arrived.

Johnson was arrested for armed robbery and could face more charges, according to police.

Anyone with information on the second suspect is asked to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
