Posted: Updated:
EAST TEXAS (KLTV) -

Numerous East Texas school districts locked down following the escape of two dangerous inmates from the Hopkins County Jail are in the process of releasing their students at their normal times. The districts are increasing security while they release their students.

All nine campuses of the Sulphur Springs Independent School District were placed on lockdown Tuesday morning after it was reported that Brian Allen Tucker, 45, and John Marlin King, 40, escaped from jail.

Winnsboro ISD superintendent Dr. Mark Bosold also confirmed that his district issued a lockdown because of the escape.

Yantis, Rains, and Sulphur Bluff ISDs and Como-Pickton CISD were also locked down.

No specific threats exist for these areas, the lockdowns were precautionary.
