Good Monday afternoon, everyone! Hope your Easter weekend was a good, safe one.
Let's start off the new week with a look at some of the stories we're working on for you right now in our newsroom:
First, the biggest story in the state of Texas is the tragic story of the Kaufman Co. DA's murder, and the murder of his wife. Our Lauren Callahan is on the scene today to keep you informed on the latest developments, including the fact that the FBI has now joined the investigation and is in Kaufman Co. assisting local agencies on the case. Lauren will join us with a live report at 4, 5 and 6 to share what she's learning.
At 5 we'll update you on the story of James Holmes, the man who dyed his hair bright red, entered a movie theater in Colorado and killed 12 people, injuring 70 others. Prosecutors tell what they have in store for him in court, and we'll bring you that this evening.
We'll also be joined by Dr. Ed Dominguez, who will share with us information about a new family of diabetes drugs the FDA has approved; could they work for you?
At 6, our Melanie Torre has been following the story of Jacky Wayne Johnston, the man who was hit when his motorcycle was hit from behind by a car as he slowed to turn into his own driveway. It's been a year since Johnston's death in the accident; we'll tell you how the investigation is going.
Chief Meteorologist Mark Scirto will join us at 4, 5 and 6 with your most accurate and dependable weather forecast; more rain is on the way! Find out when you can expect it by joining Mark this afternoon.
Join us on our website for our livestream of the news this afternoon, as well. We're here for you!
