Voice of the Crimson Tide discusses Mal Moore

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

The Voice of the Crimson Tide, Eli Gold, is expressing sorrow after the loss of former Alabama Athletics Director, Mal Moore. Gold posted a sign reading, "Rest in peace, Coach Moore," outside of the Pelham restaurant he co-owns.

Gold says Moore will be remembered for all of his accomplishments as athletics director, but he will also remember him because of the type of man he was. He says the Bama Ad was a class act who was well known beyond state lines.

"When Mal Moore talked, you listened. When you hear AD after AD, and from coach after coach, in a totally different quadrant of the country, you realize his reputation as great as we know him to be, had also spread to every corner of the country," said Gold.

Gold says he will also remember Moore for how he cared for his wife, Charlotte, during her lengthy battle with Alzheimer's.

Funeral arrangements are still pending.
